WEEK 1: Foundation & Safety First
Day 1: What is Cold Process Soap?
Objective: Understand the method and why it’s popular.
What to learn:
Cold process soap is made by mixing oils/fats with a lye solution, which causes a chemical reaction called saponification.
This process creates a natural bar of soap which contains glycerine.
Takes 4–6 weeks to cure fully.
It allows for customisation of oils, scents, colours, and designs.
Tasks:
Read 2 beginner articles (e.g. BrambleBerry or SoapQueen).
Watch YouTube tutorials: Try "Soap Queen - Cold Process" or "Tree Marie Soapworks". Search for beginner soap making tutorials
Write down any confusing terms or steps for later clarification. You can then Google these to make sure you understand them fully
Good luck see you tomorrow
