WEEK 2: First Batch & Technique Building

Objective: Make your first simple soap and document the process.


  • Day 9:

    ✅ Make your first soap! Simple, unscented, uncoloured.

    ✅ Take photos at each stage.


Make Your First Cold Process Soap

Objective: Put theory into action.

Tasks:

  • Put on safety gear.

  • Measure oils and melt if needed.

  • Measure lye and water carefully.

  • Mix lye into water (in a ventilated space), let cool.

  • Combine oils and lye at ~38–43°C.

  • Stick blend to medium trace.

  • Pour into mould. Cover lightly.

What to Expect:

  • Trace is when it thickens like custard. Don’t over-blend.

  • Label your soap with the date and ingredients.
