WEEK 3: Add Colour, Scent, and Creative Confidence

Objective: Level up with colours, fragrances, and swirls.

  • Day 16:

✅ Learn about natural vs mica colourants.

✅ Test 2 micas in a spoon + oil blend (not in soap yet).

    ✅ Plan a simple two-colour loaf.

Introduction to Colourants

Objective: Start exploring micas and natural colour options.

What to Learn:

  • Micas offer vibrant colour but may morph.

  • I personally prefer micas because they do not fade

  • Natural options: clays, activated charcoal, turmeric, cocoa, etc.

  • Some colours accelerate trace or fade.

Tasks:

  • Mix 2 micas in small oil samples to test how they disperse.

  • Decide on a two-tone swirl for tomorrow’s batch or layers.
